AYSC Arsenal Crest

Anchorage Youth Soccer Club is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to youth player and coach development. We offer world class training for eager young athletes who aspire to reach their full potential in soccer. We are affiliated with the US Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer, Alaska Youth Soccer, and US Youth Futsal. Anchorage teams compete in the United Anchorage Youth Soccer League (UAYSL), and in-state and out-of-state tournaments.

Arsenal competitive teams are coached by licensed professional coaches. The coaching staff is carefully selected to meet the needs and capacities of the players. The Anchorage coaching staff is led by a nationally licensed and recognized Technical Director who oversees and monitors the effectiveness of Anchorage coaches as they implement an age and developmentally tuned curriculum.

TEAM FORMATION

New players assessments are held three times annually in August, November, and April; where players are placed based on ability and commitment level. There are no guarantees that players will make a select or travel team.  Players that do not make a team will continue training until ready and selected for a team.

At any time, drop-in assessments are available. To arrange a drop-in assessment, contact the Technical Director.

All soccer decisions; including player placement/movement and playing up an age group, are made by the coaching directors.

We strive to field teams that are competitive and successful; no throwing numbers together to have a team that are not ready. Under-11 to under-12 teams play 8 players to a side, from a typical roster of 12 total players. Under-13 and older teams play 11 players to a side, from a typical roster of 16 total players.

PLEASE NOTE: Players selected for a team will pay additional league, tournament, and uniform fees.  Estimated player fees include (UAYSL: $130 per season, tournaments: $45 + travel expenses per tournament, and game uniforms (home/away): $114).  Fees may vary, see program fees below for more information.

PLEASE NOTE: Anchorage encourages children to explore and enjoy multiple sports. During the soccer season, the coaching staff expects that children participating in multiple sports will make soccer their first priority when inevitable schedule conflicts arise. Missed training and games due to sports conflicts are discouraged because of the impact on both the player and the team, both in training and in competition.  Furthermore, as players mature, tournaments and travel increases in order to find appropriate competition.

PROGRAM FEES

Seasonal fees typically range from $425 to $1,000 depending on team selection, league, and the number of tournaments participating in.  Out-of-town travel costs are shared by the team that are going on the trip, these include the coach’s per-diem, car rental, gas, hotel, airfare; hotel rooms for players & chaperons, van rental, and gas. Depending on the event, not all of these items will be needed. Players are responsible of their own costs of travel to and from.  For more information, please contact the Technical Director.
